K.V.: Best place in Austin to experience art for someone who has never been to a gallery?

Lana: The Turrell Skyspace. I recently brought a friend there who doesn’t know much about art. At first he looked up and thought it looked like a hole in the roof. When we left, he couldn’t stop talking about it. How he felt, what he felt. I think the impact will stay with him a long time. That’s when I love art the most. When it touches people in that way.

K.V.: Best place in Austin to interact with art?

Steve: I love the Blanton. I’m quite partial to museums. I like to view art at my own pace and I like to explore.

K.V.: Last gallery you visited?

Lana: Unix Gallery in Houston

Steve: Big Medium Gallery at Canopy

The second POP AUSTIN International Art Show is scheduled to take place Oct. 23 to 25 at Market Fair from 10 a.m to 6 p.m daily. In addition, a VIP party is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 22 at the same venue from 8 to 11 p.m. POP AUSTIN also plans to host a satellite show for those attending the 2015 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas starting Oct. 23.
